- I was able to get DOSServ to work finally :). The problem was with the CBM
- Janus 2.1 files - it wasn't apparently installed completely or something. The
- install script runs a config executable which doen't run under Amiga DOS 3.1.
- I had to reinstall it with a Amiga DOS 2.04 boot disk after setting the
- assigns to the hard drive. Even so, I've never had luck using the original
- install script on the Janus 2.1 disk even with ADOS 2.04; Installer would
- bomb out with a tooltype argument missing error. So I commented out all
- sections of the script that had a tooltype setting (I'm not a install script
- expert so this was my workaround). The other remaining problem appears to be
- that the Janus-Handler doesn't startup the DOSServ service. So I put the
- DOSServ from the JanusTools into the WBStartup drawer to start it.
-
- I don't know if everyone has the same problems with the Janus 2.1 install
- disk script file but it's never worked correctly. I've never tried it with
- Amiga DOS 1.3.
-
- Anyways, it's working great. So I upgraded the BB to a 486SX with one of the
- Evergreen 386 to 486 upgrades to top it off.
-
- Thanks for the suggestions.
